Red Dragon Mandarin Programme
Intensive Mandarin studies |

Students may use computers as a reference source in addition to class texts, CDs and videos.
This student-centered course places much emphasis on quickly developing good conversational skills, as well as listening comprehension and proper pronunciation. Mandarin taught using the 26-letter alphabet
Levels of instruction: Beginner level for July and/or August
Placement test on the first day
25 hours a week of Mandarin instruction, with a professor from the University of Beijing
Accommodation with a selected Mandarin-Canadian host family; private bedroom
Weekdays: breakfast, and dinner at home. Weekends: three meals a day
Room and board is offered in Toronto, with a Mandarin-Canadian family, which will be of great help to practice the language in the afternoons at dinnertime, and on weekends. The families speak English too.

Activities:
The programme organizes optional activities in Toronto, such as Chinatown, the CN Tower, SkyDome, Hard Rock Café, the Ontario Science Centre, and in summertime, Canada’s Wonderland. The fashionable Bloor & Yorkville area and the Eaton Center offer the best shopping. Some optional activities with the Mandarin-Canadian family for language interaction
