Location: University of Toronto,
St-George Campus
Description: English lessons, activities, excursions, sports
Included:
  • Group airport transfers
  • Accommodation in University residence; double, triple, and quad. Towels are not included
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner; at the University, and on tours
  • Three hours per day of English lessons for Juniors and Intermediate; three-and-a-half hours per day for Seniors. Classes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There are English lessons, Projects, and Theme English (English and Music, or English and Drama, for example)
  • Placement Test. Use of computer laboratory, Internet, audiovisual equipment; teaching materials
  • Basic laundry service once a week
  • General recreation sports and games
  • Transportation within Toronto, and to Niagara Falls and Canada’s Wonderland
  • Medical insurance up to CAD$50,000
  • CD-format Yearbook

Description of the ESL Course:

ESL class covers speaking, listening, writing and reading study; vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversation skills, all depending upon the students’ knowledge of the English language. At times, students will use the University facilities, such as the audiovisual equipment, computer laboratory, library, Internet. ESL Theme is introduction to English using music, drama, art, and/or other examples based on the ESL class The English Programme is located at the University of Toronto, in the heart of the city. There are many attractions in the area, such as movie theatres, fashionable boutiques such as the Nike Store, The Gap, Tiffany’s, Chanel, and fifteen minutes, by subway, the Eaton Center, the most beautiful shopping center in Toronto.

Organization:
English classes are taught by professional teachers with a background in English as a Second Language, and experience with young students. Average number of students per class is twelve, to a maximum of sixteen. Counsellors are university students who have received intensive training. Some are specialized in a particular area: drama, guitar, basketball, for example. There is one counsellor for every five Juniors; one counsellor for every seven Intermediates; and one for every ten Seniors. Counsellors live in the University to guarantee supervision 24 hours a day. Most are trained in First Aid.
