Miss Claudia Palacio

Hello! I am Claudia Elizabeth Palacio, 21 years of age, from the state of Sonora, Mexico. I am studying Business Administration with a specialization in the Tourism Industry. I feel proud of having been selected as Miss Sonora 2002. I feel confident stating that a woman can achieve many objectives not just by the gift of beauty, but also through her spiritual and professional preparation. It was a great responsibility to represent the state of Sonora at national level, which gave me a wonderful experience. I thank God, my family, and my friends for their support. One of the most important phases in my life was the school year at the boarding school in Canada. It helped me become more independent; I met students from Canada and other parts of the world, and I became more sociable. I achieved one of the most important goals, which was to learn English very well. I wish to thank my teachers and mentors, and Mr. James R Portoraro, for the help they gave me. I am really proud of being a Canadian alumna Boarding School 2000-2001

Me siento orgullosa de haber sido elegida Miss Sonora 2002. Puedo decir con toda confianza que una mujer puede alcanzar muchos objetivos no solamente por tener el don de la belleza, si no tambien gracias a través de una preparación espiritual y profesional. Fue una gran responsabilidad representar a Sonora a nivel nacional, lo cual fue una experiencia maravillosa. Doy gracias a Dios, a mi familia y amigos por su apoyo continuo. Una de las mas importantes etapas de mi vida fue el año que pasé en un internado en Canadá. Me ayudó a ser independiente; conocí a estudiantes canadienses y de otras partes del mundo y empecé a ser mas sociable. Conseguí uno de los objetivos más importantes, que fue el buen aprendizaje del idioma inglés. Quiero dar las gracias a mis profesores y tutores, asi como a Mr. James R. Portoraro, por toda la ayuda que me brindaron. Estoy orgullosa de decir que soy una ex-alumna canadiense. Internado 2000-2001
